ABOUT THE “SAFER STAGE” PROGRAM
Over The Bridge is working with venues, festivals, and other events across North America to provide localized addiction recovery and mental health crisis contact information for all musicians, crew, venue and event staff scheduled to perform in their city. When someone from the music industry needs help, there will be help for him or her, regardless of where they are.
Club owners, promoters, musicians, touring crew, and venue workers contact Over The Bridge to request a “Safer Stage” poster for their venue/event.
Over The Bridge will create localized “Safer Stage” support/crisis resource materials (posters) and send the material to the requester.
The requester will then print and post materials in visually accessible areas of the dressing room and backstage for the artist and touring crew to read.
All venues that choose to participate in the ‘Safer Stage’ program are encouraged to highlight their participation by taking a photo of the poster with their venue staff. Over The Bridge will post the photo on the Over The Bridge website and social media platforms using the hashtag #OTBtogether. We encourage all venues to do the same.
The goal of this campaign is to place “Safer Stage” information in areas where musicians, security, and venue staff spend most of their time (e.g., clubs, green room). This is a call-to-action for members of the music industry to order these support materials and to affirm that the music community provides help and support for each other in times of crisis. Actions will speak louder than words. Your call to Over The Bridge advances this movement to provide safe and positive work environments.
If you are a club owner, promoter, musician, or want your local venue to be a safer place, contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will provide local recovery and crisis contact information.
